Hi, I’m an ordinary guy.
The truth is, I have no special skills, no super powers, and there’s no particular thing that I’m particularly good at.
I don’t have any interesting hobbies. I don’t drink (not for religious reasons or anything – I just don’t like alcohol), which is – I’ll admit – unusual in this part of the world. So, I’m an unusually ordinary guy. I would use the term “boring” to describe myself (others probably would too).
I have a college degree, a career (somewhat), a wife, an heiress, a house, a mortgage and two cats, I also have a car. Two actually. One for myself and one for TEoW (The Extraordinary Wife). That’s pretty ordinary too. I also have friends. Some more ordinary than others, albeit they are all my friends.
The other day, I got to thinking (I do that a lot. – Everyday actually! Sometimes, even during the night too!). Wait. I lied a little bit earlier. I do have something that I’m fairly good at (or so I’ve been told). Two things actually; Finances and writing.
So that’s when I decided (when I got to thinking that other day) that I should combine those two skills, and create a blog! (There’s a third thing too actually – I’m fairly IT savvy. So much in fact that I’ve managed to make a career out of it. But more about that later).
So here we are…
This blog, is intended as a kind of diary, for me to share some of my daily thoughts. Thoughts about life, happiness, unhappiness, friends, finances and…well, whatever comes to mind, on any given day. You see, I would like to pay homage to all of you, ordinary guys and girls out there.
99.9% of the people on this planet, is pretty ordinary. – And yet, our own self image today, is a reflection of those people, icons, enthusiasts, athletes and movie stars, who we believe belong to that other category. The 0.1%. The Extraordinary people. At least that’s what we are being taught to believe.
I encourage you to believe in those other 99.9%. It’s OK to be ordinary. In fact, it’s kind of cool! 😉
Anyway, my name is Nick, and I live in Denmark with my wife and our daughter. I’m 35 36 37 38 years old, and I work in IT. I’ve chosen to write this blog anonymously (I noticed several of my peers also does this), as I’m going to be revealing some very private details, both about my financials and my life. It just seemed like a good idea, to keep things anonymous. At least for now. If you disagree, do let me know.
If you have any questions or comments (about me or the blog or life in general), please feel free to reach out to me at:
